Thursday, December 5 2019 6:00 PM 8:30 PM EDT

ABOUT ABOUT

Join DC Shorts International Film Festival and Bertelsmann Foundation for a night of short films followed by discussion on the theme - "The Power of One." An open wine bar kicks off the evening when the doors open at 6:00pm, with the screenings beginning at 6:30pm, and the panel discussion from 8:00pm to 8:30pm. This event is FREE and open to the public, but registration is required.

One person, one voice, one action, one community, or just one film can create change and impact the lives of others, and potentially change the world. The short films screened this evening will underscore the power of one and include: "St. Louis Superman" by Smriti Mundhra and Sami Khan; "Motherland" by Emily Mkrtichian and Jesse Soursourian; and "Swing State Florida: Liberty City" by Sam George.

Immediately following the screenings, a panel will reflect and expand on the films’ insights on The Power of One and include award-winning documentary filmmaker Judy Hallet, Pennsylvania State Legislator Malcolm Kenyatta, and Libery City director Sam George.
